We are so glad to stay in touch with our many members, supporters, community partners and others who share our vision of supporting small business owners. We will send a monthly email newsletter to keep you up to date on all the happenings in our groups, new events, outreach and business news of interest.
It's been a whirlwind of activity in the past few months!
On December 6th, Entrepreneurs Forever will kick off a multi-partner effort to help nearly 100 existing small business owners in Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties to grow their businesses substantially. The Henry L Hillman Foundation has provided funding for this vital collaboration between start-up accelerators and other service providers in the SW Pennsylvania entrepreneurial ecosystem.
U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced the inclusion of Entrepreneurs Forever in his (FY) 2023 Community Project funding request for Southwestern Pennsylvania. Senator Casey strongly advocated for Entrepreneurs Forever to be included in the appropriations subcommittee bills. Once appropriated, his program will serve 300 members in Western Pennsylvania.

Guest presenters Cynthia Underwood & James Carter (Homestead group!) will help participants look at their year's financial results and do end-of-year and next year's plans.

Jordan Robarge of Nancy’s Revival in Pittsburgh (a member of our Wilk 2 group) was able to get a substantial tax refund based on keeping his staff on the payroll despite the COVID epidemic. And this was on top of PPP programs he had been able to take advantage of!
The Employee Retention Tax Credit is a federal payroll tax refund of up to $26,000 per employee. Yes, retroactive for paying your employees during 2020 and 2021!
Jordan used his payroll company (who charged him a flat fee) to assist him in submitting the paperwork needed, but your accountant is probably a good place to start. The deadline to submit is March 2023. Information on the bill from Congress is here.
We are planning a Virtual Roundtable in January to talk about Small Business Employment. Would you like to be a panelist and talk about your experiences hiring or retaining employees? Contact Deborah at dgallant@e4ever.org!
We are planning for historic growth in 2023. We are thrilled to be included as part of the omnibus spending bill passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden in December. We'll receive funding through a Congressionally Directed Community Project introduced and supported by Pennsylvania's US Senator Bob Casey. Adding that to the funds we are receiving from the Henry L. Hillman Foundation and it totals over $1.5 million which will give us the opportunity to serve up to 300 new members of our groups in the coming year.
